OUR FOUNDATION

Trade that moves in both directions

Zinken moves two things in opposite directions through one port: East African produce going out to buyers who pay for quality, and the energy and equipment the region needs coming back in.

MISSION

East African soil to global tables — and back again as the tools that let it keep producing.

The highlands the mission starts in
Bridge, Power and Uplift Communities

Tea, coffee, honey and avocado from the highlands of Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia — graded to standards that hold up anywhere.

We uphold fair trade at every step. The same relationships that move produce out bring solar, storage and infrastructure back in.

01

Sustainability

Protecting the land and the people who work it.

02

Excellence

International standards at every stage, farm to port.

03

Community

WHY ZINKEN

Relationships that survive the distance, not just the paperwork

FAIR TRADE PARTNERSHIPS

We know the farmer, not just the invoice

We buy at the cooperative and factory gate, so value reaches the grower.

INTERNATIONAL STANDARDS

Nothing left to chance at the border

Grading and documentation built to clear scrutiny at the border.

CROSS-BORDER EXPERTISE

Markets we've actually worked in

China, the Gulf and Europe — markets we have actually worked in.

DUAL-DIRECTION TRADE

The route runs both ways

The route that carries produce out brings equipment back in.

SUSTAINABILITY

Sourcing you can put in front of an auditor

Five commitments, described in terms of what we actually do rather than what sounds good in a brochure.

No certification logo we have not earned. Ask us for the document behind any claim here.
01

Farmer partnerships

We buy at the cooperative and factory gate. The grower knows what their lot sold for; we know whose lot is in the container.

02

Ethical sourcing

Suppliers must meet Kenyan labour law and the standards our buyers audit against — in writing, before the first shipment.

03

ESG reporting

Supplier lists, purchase records, grading and shipping files kept in a form a buyer’s ESG team or auditor can work from.

04

Carbon reduction

Sea freight, not air. Every solar system we land displaces diesel generation. We give you the freight data for your Scope 3.

05

Traceability

Every consignment recorded to the lot. For coffee into the EU, EUDR obligations start 30 December 2026 — 30 June 2027 for small operators — and we are building records to that standard.
